The Royal College of Psychiatrists relies on psychiatrists and
educationalists in the field to contribute learning material.
Perhaps you have recently given a seminar? Or been involved in a
workshop where you have produced educational material? Or maybe you
have written an article for Advances in Psychiatric
Treatment some time ago and would like to update the work? Or
perhaps you have a special interest in new technology and would
like to be more creative with your work presentations.
If so, we are keen to know about your ideas and see your work,
as they might lend themselves to online learning. If
your suggestions are fairly well developed and target learners
with specific learning outcomes, then we would definitely like to
hear from you. It doesn’t matter whether your ideas are sketched
out in a notebook, presented in a Word document or set up as
PowerPoint slides; the Publications Department can help you convert
them into a web-based format ready for the site.
We are interested in articles, lectures, decision-making
learning mazes, etc. If there’s a controversial topic which
you’d like to debate with someone, we would be interested
in recording a discussion for podcasting.
In return for your help, the College will pay £200 for each
module approved by the Editor. You can also claim up to five CPD
credits per year for writing modules, on top of any credits
you have earned as a learner.
If you have suggestions for topics but don't want to produce
the modules yourself, by all means let us have your suggestions and
we'll see what we can do.
