On average 200 to 300 per 100,000 population attend hospital
with head injury every year with perhaps one sixth being admitted.
Of those admitted:
- 80% have mild head injuries
- 10% have moderate head injuries
- 10% have severe head injuries.

injury
- preview brain scan images in order to identify sites and
types of brain injury
- classify injury severity, understand the direct effects of
brain injury and estimate prognosis
- understand the assessment of acute and chronic
neuropsychiatric sequelae and the management of these.
