Welcome to this CPD Online module, Behavioural problems in the
under fives: Part 1. We hope that you find it an enjoyable learning
experience.
In this module, the first of three, we will
look at normal development of a pre-schooler and discuss
attachment. We will also look at the prevalence of disorders in
this age group and the possible causes. We have included a section
on assessment.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this module, we hope you will:
- have a clearer understanding of the epidemiology
of disorders in pre-schoolers
- be able to determine which behaviours are part of normal
development and thus identify disorders in young children
- be familiar with the components of assessment
- understand the aetiology behind behaviour problems
- understand the concept of attachment.
