Colin Murray Parkes, OBE, MD, FRCPsych
 Consultant Psychiatrist to St Christopher's Hospice,
Sydenham and St Joseph's Hospice, Hackney.
Dr Parkes was formerly Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry
at The Royal London Hospital Medical College and Member of
Research Staff at The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations. He
has edited and written numerous books and publications on
bereavement and the psychological aspects of loss and trauma, and
has acted as consultant/adviser following major disasters in
the UK and elsewhere.
Dr Parkes is the Life President of
Cruse: Bereavement Care and is currently Vice Chair of the
International Work Group on Death, Dying and Bereavement.
