Learning outcomes
On completion of this module, we hope that you
will:
- be able to identify, before or soon after bereavement,
those at risk of poor psychological outcome and the interventions
available or needed to reduce that risk;
- gain confidence in discussing the causes of physical and
psychological ill health and increased mortality associated with
bereavement;
- be able to explain the diagnosis, aetiology and treatment of
prolonged grief disorder;
- gain an understanding of the current theories of
bereavement and its consequences.
