Learning outcomes
By the end of this module we hope that you
will be better able to:
- define or at least have working definitions of 'culture' and
'cultural diversity'
- evaluate your own attitudes and perceptions (including
personal bias) of different groups within society and thereby
evaluate and justify the approaches used your own clinical
practice
- identify how practitioner culture may influence clinical
practice
- describe the legislation that exists to ensure equal
opportunities
- compare and contrast the evidence available regarding effective
interventions to create culturally appropriate services
- identify strategies to ensure that the services they deliver
are culturally appropriate for diverse populations.
