Learning outcomes

In completing this module, we hope that you will:

• gain an understanding of the differences between dementias presenting in younger and older age groups;

• gain a knowledge of the prevalence and distribution of diagnoses in early onset dementias;

• learn how to assess and investigate a younger person presenting with cognitive impairment;

• learn how to recognise the more common causes of early onset dementias;

• become aware of the pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions available for the management of early onset dementias.
