Elke Henson has worked for the NHS since 1992 and in Neuropsychiatry Services since 2003. She qualified from Keele University initially with a diploma in nursing studies (mental health) and later completed a diploma in neurological studies at Leeds Metropolitan University, as well as a BA (Hons) in specialist practice at Keele University. She is an independent nurse prescriber and is currently undertaking a Masters degree in advanced clinical practice.

George El-Nimr, MBChB, MSc, MRCPsych, MSc, PG DipMedEd

Academic Secretary for the Faculty of Neuropsychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Consultant Neuropsychiatrist and Clinical Lead for Neuropsychiatry Services, North Staffordshire.

Undergraduate Clinical Tutor/Honorary Clinical Lecturer, Keele University.

 

Dr El-Nimr provides care for patients with psychiatric manifestations of brain disease or damage in different clinical settings. He supports educational programmes in various universities and has published a number of scientific papers, as well as educational modules and materials. He has organised national and international conferences and is a member of the European Huntington’s Disease (HD) Network, supporting its research activities as a principal investigator. He is also an executive member of the Board of Trustees of the HD Association for England and Wales.

 

Dr El-Nimr is an Executive Committee member for the Faculty of Neuropsychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has also taken the lead to represent the Faculty at the Public Engagement Committee. As the Academic Secretary for the Faculty, he is responsible for organising the Faculty's Annual Residential Conference. He is a CASC examiner for the RCPsych and PLAB examiner for the GMC.

 

Dr El-Nimr's main interests include medical education, acquired brain injury, working-age dementia and HD, along with medico-legal and service development issues.
