Music therapy – an introductionWelcome to this module which introduces some basic information about the practice of music therapy in the UK. The module is in three sections:

 

Section 1: Background to music therapy

 

Section 2: Music therapy approaches

 

Section 3: Case studies and summary of evidence base. We specifically look at:

 

  • autism

 

  • schizophrenia

 

  • dementia.

 

Apart from the video examples which support this module, all case examples are fictitious and compiled from clinical experience, or have ethical consent and approval.
