By the end of the module, we hope that you will have gained:

• a knowledge of the prevalence rates of anxiety disorders;

• an overview of the latest treatments of anxiety disorders;

• an awareness of the existing guidelines regarding the use of various drugs, especially benzodiazepines and some antidepressants;

• an appreciation of the controversies surrounding the pharmacotherapy of anxiety disorders.
