Dr Badrakalimuthu has undertaken audits on prescribing practice in mood disorder, dementia and ADHD. He has conducted and presented research on cytochrome P450 enzyme systems and drug interactions. He organises psychopharmacology training days for psychiatry trainees in Eastern Deanery and has certification from the British Association of Psychopharmacology. He is currently tutor for the MRCPsych course and is undertaking a Masters degree in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, London.
